Q. So, how has Interspan Freight managed to continue to deliver exceptional levels of service and maintain investments in its people, premises and services in one of the toughest industries across two decades
A. Well, it’s been a challenge but every day we try to learn, evolve and improve our service delivery and reliability for our customers. Our Team are crucial to this and most have longevity with us, in fact most are part of the furniture and fittings! We like to keep things simple. I’m a great believer in openness and honesty with customers and suppliers – even when on the odd occasion things go wrong!

A. We have no control over the economic or political environments, all we can really do in times of unprecedented change and uncertainty is evaluate the risks and seek out the opportunities. Wehave grown organically over the years and never waivered from our key principals of honesty, openness and integrity. Our customers tend to stay with us for a long time, we keep it real and don’t over promise. Where there is change there is opportunity and that’s how we look at it.
Q. So tell us about your next big investment
A. We are just at the final stages of a relocation seeing our facility more than triple in size. We will be staying in the heart of Trafford Park as we felt this was key to the harmony of our team and has obvious benefits in terms of transport infrastructure, but further enhancing our services and portfolio, the move is planned for the last quarter increasing our warehouse capacity by over 300%. Warehousing and contract logistics are one of our biggest growth areas so the move is in response to our clients demands, it also allows for the continued growth of our European and deep sea services. We are investing heavily to create a bespoke facility to meet with our clients requirements.
The new facility will initially offer:
- Container / trailer loading / unloading
- Cross docking
- ERTS (HMRC customs bonded)
- VGM up to 3 tons
- Contract logistics
- E fulfilment
